Long term plan

If you were me, what would you do then.

Would you...
* call Bill Gates and sell him the entire project.
* abandon this project and focus on something more profitable.
* make it open source and somehow be able to pay the rent.
* record lots of screencasts to convince people to try it out.
* code lots of new filters.
* code a particular filter that lots of people actually need.
* write documentation for every part of the program.
* buy banner ads on macworld.com
* take a break from the project and code something else and then get back.
* code a particular feature in the UI.
* become buddies with famous bloggers that have lots of influence.

If you have a plan, let me know smile

Re: Long term plan

I cannot believe how great this application is ---

However, I did not use it for quite a long time after buying because the webpage did not sell the usefulness of it to me.

Then I figure it out and wow !!! it is amazing.

But, u need 2 advertise your product better I think.

make it open souce is a good idea...
i  have search for a long time a api procedural image editing or vector drawing.
but GDT is all in one this is great!
how erver there some things that this api need:

More userfriendliness  more artist. (ui guide like cursor, brush, pen, tools that you can see on the image to move and control it, have more contact with image like photoshop and illustrator, but still keeping the slides)

More files suport with adobe Ps Ai and dont foget Svg...

Re: Long term plan

Thank you souza and Robo, you. makes me happy to hear that you like it :-)

I'm mega busy (as always) and haven't updated the my status for a while. Currently I'm working on another mac application, a file manager, which is starting to take shape and I expect to be able to publish it after some weeks (dunno exactly). Then I will have more time to GDT again and perhaps resume coding version 2.

GDT is an expensive economical failure for me. With this new file manager I hope not to repeat the same mistakes and hopefully earn some money on it. GDT is still the absolute most interesting project, but it's so incredible difficult to make people understand it and thus selling it is almost impossible. I'm thankful to those that have payed for GDT so far. Ideas are welcome.

I am learning a lot from coding this new file manager, of how to create really advanced cocoa applications and this knowledge is something I intend to use for GDT version 2.

Thanks.
